With ketogenic or keto diet gaining more and more followers, the food industry has lacked in being able to supply low carb tastey alternatives.
In my search to fully commit to the keto diet I realized I had to prepare meals at home, one my weaknesses? BREAD ! had to look for alternatives for one my favorite food groups
While doing hours of research looking for something to puch my carb craving out the window ! , I discovered cloud bread. Many fellow keto dieters and bloggers have had wonderful experiences cooking cloud bread. Today, I want to share with you all my research on this wonderful food !
What Is Cloud Bread?
Cloud bread is your best buddy if you dream about bread everynight, but would like to enjoy it without the damn carbs.
A simple breakdown of a Cloud bread recipes is as follows : whipping egg whites and cream tartar together to reach that soft and fluffy meringue mixture. This mixture will then be folded into the egg yolks with full-fat dairy that can be cottage cheese, cream cheese, or yogurt. A little sweetener can get into the mix, too. You can bake it like a loaf, buns, or like bread muffins.
Cloud bread has taken the diet, health, and weight loss Internet world by storm because it is meant for those who are on keto, and Paleo diets. Pretty neat, huh? Cloud bread only contains half the calories of a regular bread; only one gram of carbs per “cloud”, but its protein content? At par with that of regular bread coming in at roughly 2 grams per cloud.
I promise you will love this bread ! you might not feel full even after eating heaps of clouds. But to be fair, cloud bread is not supposed to be your main meal. It should be eaten with something on the side.
How Long Does Cloud Bread Last?
The usual lifespan of cloud bread outside the refrigerator and on your countertop is 3 days. If you place it in your refrigerator, you can store it up to 7 days. Oh, and you can also freeze them. If you toast it, set the timer for only a minute because cloud bread has a tendency to burn easily.
Being on a diet is not the easiest. Adjusting your calories just to stay on course is also difficult, but it can be done. Do your part: research, and work hard for your results. We Personally love to incorporate coconut oil pills into our regiment !
